That’s cool. But I never pre order games
Way too early to preorder. All we know is the name, some early footage and that the fire crocodile is the best starter.
Ease up there, Pokemon Company. You haven't quite earned that preorder yet...
If I had to guess, the games will most likely release November 18th. But we'll just have to wait and see.
Eh...I'll pre-order when there's a double-pack announced. Which will come anyways. Just waiting.
I'll probably be preordering these physically like most other Pokemon games (I did it for both SwSh and Legends), but I'll wait to see the big differences in Pokemon between the two before deciding which one to go for (kind of leaning towards Scarlet but we'll wait and see).
I just wanna pinch the male player character cus he such a CUTIE PIE, but I'm burnt out on pokemon atm, I might get it in 5 years
Will they run out if we don’t preorder 8 months in advance?
Stalin Soviet Union duck has me about to pre order. And i never pre order
Will wait for a double pack and/or preorder bonuses.
I will pre-order as soon as we know if we can transfer all our Pokémon that we already have caught.
Pre-ordering a game originally meant getting the game the day it launched because it may sell out. But digital versions are infinite, that's no longer a concern.
In-game pre-order bonuses are a nice gesture and all, but they usually amount to an unfair advantage early on and therefore a less challenging experience. The game looks lovely so far from what little we've seen, but there's no harm in waiting until after it's released when plenty of reviews are out.
Why would I pre-order now if the game releases in like 9 months? Can pre-order in 8 months as well and still get a copy at (or even before) release
After Arceus (being the lovely wonder that it is) I think I’m gonna take a Poké-Break for a year or so.. Between New Snap, Brilliant Diamond, and the letdown that was Let’s Go.. I’ma need a year..
I wish they’d do with the Zelda franchise like they’re doing with the Pokémon franchise.. I’d be one happy mf
I am curious about the final evos and also legendaries first...
Hmm, I shall wait until more information. Recently I have been able to preorder a digital copy of one version and then get a physical of the opposite version.. may go Violet digital, and Scarlet physical.. TBD
@ManaOwls I can tell you now, you won't be getting this game at all then. The National Dex is dead and Gamefreak seem to be tailoring each game with only certain mons. To be fair I prefer this approach, if they actually put the effort in with animations (aka Legends) and not half arse it (aka Sw/Sh)
Way too soon to pre-order, right?? XD. I would need to know more before, and see how the gameplay will be.
I need to know the differences between the two versions first. I assume that will be a while.
Lmao that’s too early, what a mistake.
PreOrder when time comes...
@Kiz I hear you, I just hope at one point we can combine the best of both worlds. Cause I actually transferred all my Pokémon back from Game Boy Advance to DS to 3DS. All my Pokémon are trapped on Ultra Sun and Moon now which is such a shame cause I really liked the feature to get your Pokémon over to the next generation. Also, I don't like to catch the same Pokémon over and over again, I already have all gen 1 to gen 7 Pokémon (807 Pokémon). But if it turns out that we won't have a National Dex in Scarlet and Violet I'll do the same thing that I did with Sword and Shield, I'll wait for a sale and then get them for my backlog in case I decide to catch the new Pokémon.
C’mon Steel Pack bonus… I need to keep the collection going.
little too soon tbh since it won't be out til November probably
I don’t get why anyone would pre-order. Legendary pokemon weren’t even revealed yet.
The double pack will probably follow the same trend it always does over here, which is being €20 extra versus buying the games loose.
Oh well, too early for a pre-order, going to do that at earliest 2 weeks before launch.
Waiting for Dual pack with SteelCase to go with it and 100 pokeball collection and preorder bonus.
@Browny There is no "earned".
Wait for the Pokemon Center preorders. They usually have good bonuses.
I can’t preorder before I know the differences between the two versions! If my boi Sneasel is in there and that’s version exclusive, I need to know which version to get.
Get 2 rare candy and a Zubat if you have a save file for Let's Go, Pokemon SWSH, Arceus, and BDSP if you pre order now!
They’re really pumping out these Pokémon titles, aren’t they? It’s amazing people still have such high expectations haha. Arceus was OK, it certainly stands out amongst the Pokémon lineup, but stacked up against other games with similar mechanics, it looks unfinished at best. I predict Pokémon goes live service at some point, sooner than later too.
Seems way too early to be preordering this game given how little we know about it.
@commentlife
Pokemon sells gangbusters as is, no need to change the current release schedule or overall business model.
Though I'd would have gone straight for Violet, I'll wait till I find out what Pokemon exclusives are on which version this time.
Preordering popular games months in advance is utter nonsense.
I'll preorder the games when they show up on the eshop. But I am still genuinely excited for these games. Not overwhelmingly so, like back when X and Y were on their way, but excited enough to preorder right away.
@Gravitron : Throw in a Magikarp and you've got yourself a deal!
@Juga He is adorable!!!
I wish we would move away from cover legendaries and back to featuring starter/normal Pokemon on the cover. Legends Arceus and Let's Go are good examples of how inviting the box art feels when they feature normal Pokemon instead.
I don't see the point in preordering months in advance.
"Are There Any Pre-Order Bonuses For Fire Emblem Warriors: Three Hopes?......"
????
Yeah, never pre-order unless it's a limited edition. I just don't see the point.
I want to preorder the game but i don't know which one, is there any way to know each game differences or it's just too soon?
@Zucaritas Too soon at the moment. The only difference we do know is the box legendary.
@SilentHunter382 ok, thanks for the answer. I went for Violet, I like more the legendary
????????♂️I wont pre-order yet but I will once I know what the Pre-Order Gifts will be.
Here in the England, it'll be a Steelbook which look nice but I never use for fear of them getting scratched.
I usually never pre-order games unless they come with a steelbook, I prefer just waltzing in on the day and grabbing em tbh, saves the hassle.
I'll be waiting for the pokemoncenter version.
@Pillowpants when Animal Crossing dropped during the first covid lockdowns no one could get it unless you went digital or pre-ordered it.
@Sonos I've got a physical copy and didn't need to pre-order. I live in the Netherlands, though, so maybe that's a different market from where you live. Pre-orders are just a no-go for me. I don't want to pay upfront for something, unless I know the supply is extremely limited, hence my first reply to this topic.
For more information, please visit ZDH.
Not going to preorder but I do think this will be the first time I buy both versions.
I need to know more about version differences. Leaning toward Scarlet otherwise.
Is this still necessary? Do people who don’t pre order games like Pokémon not get them?
Too early I'll pre-order them nearer the time. I'm definitely getting both versions though make no mistake about it.
Amazon FR has the dual pack with steelcase...placed preorder for it.
I still need to know if it's keeping some semblance of the Legends catching system. I just can't go back to the old way, even if it's a beautiful open world, it'll feel like too much of the same for me if the thousands of encounters are all turn based.
Scarlet for me
@SpaceboyScreams That's the problem the genie is out of the bottle and they can't put it back in. I too want them to make a change and be more legend even if naysayers are saying that is a prequel to the Pokémon series - I say that too late now.
@Pillowpants It was tough to find here in the states. The game dropped the literal week we went into national lockdowns. I had a copy pre-ordered but then amazon started pushing it back...then WAY back. I went digital and never regretted that decision. people were looking everywhere.
I’ve never played Pokémon. Ever. But I’m thinking of getting this for my seven year old daughter. Two questions: age-wise is seven ok? And why are there two versions? Do you need both?
@Bondi_Surfer It's PEGI 7, so 7 should be okay.
And two versions because you can catch different Pokémon in the different version of the game. And in this one the Professor that gives you the first Pokémon / PokéDex is different per version. It's not required to get both versions though, since the main story should be the same.
Bascially it's to encourage people to either buy both versions (many do, most don't) or to trade with others.
Damn it, getting sucked in again.
See if they include my boy Goodra.
@Bondi_Surfer No age limits...Just look at Pokemon GO! everyone plays it. The game is family fun orientated not like COD or FPS games.
I usually use best buy you get the launch day shipping without having to pay for a subscription.
Always wanted to get into Pokémon but never played one right through
How does it work can you carry Pokémon from one game into the next ?
I have sword so if I captured them in that can they be used in this one ?
@Bondi_Surfer : Given that these will be open world games, unless your daughter has experience with navigating in a full 3D space, I would perhaps err on the side of caution and lean towards an earlier instalment such as the Let's Go games or Sword/Shield to gauge whether she would be interested in Scarlet/Violet.
Otherwise, go for it. There may be a fair bit of reading involved, but she should get the hang of the game quite quickly. The games have always been designed to be accommodating to newcomers (perhaps a little too much so, as it can become quite exhausting for long-time players such as myself).
And unless you're an absolute diehard fan and/or want to have your own copy but don't want to have the same version as somebody else in your household, then I wouldn't recommend buying both versions. I buy both because I'm a sucker, but the differences between the two versions have always been negligible at best. There's usually a couple of dozen or so Pokémon that you can only capture in one version, while the same areas in the game will be populated by a substituted Pokémon in the alternate version (plus the cover Pokémon is usually exclusive to its respective game). Given its Game Boy roots, this was originally to encourage trading between players. With that said, it appears that Scarlet/Violet will have more differences between them than most previous instalments, but I wouldn't expect them to be substantial enough to warrant double-dipping for most.
In terms of content though, the main series games have always been suitable for general audiences, and I think the PG rating that they slap on the games in Australia is a stretch. Legends Arceus fully deserved its PG rating (for once) as Pokémon can attack the player for the first time, and there is a palpable sense of menace that was absent from previous games, but the main series games have always been very mild.
Thanks @Silly_G - I appreciate your thoughtful response. You’ve pretty much sold me on getting it for her!!
Still waiting for the dual pack preorders in Italy... Amazon has the double game preorder but not the actual dual pack...
They should be 39.99 each or 59.99 for both
Pokemon Scarlet will be a Christmas wish of mine.
What do they mean by this:
What has been revealed, is an early purchase bonus. Those who buy the game and reach a certain part within it by 28th February will be able to claim a special in-game Pikachu.
They should get it for PreOrder for that why does one need to reach that certain part?
❗️UNLESS the Nintendo UK site DOESN'T have any pre-order bonuses, I'll get it, possibly both on the same day, from GAME!
@SwitchForce
You claim the pikachu by in-game mystery gift, it's not a pre order bonus per se
Just a PSA: physical collectors may wanna wait and see if the whole game is on the cart this time, and possibly wait for patched / complete revisions.
Wait wait wait, whoa whoa whoa...you mean people buy BOTH games? But those people always defended Nintendo for selling two nearly identical games because trading?!? Well, I'm shocked.
I hope this one runs at a buttery smooth 12 frames per second
@locky-mavo
They’ve already stated that Tyranitar is a Scarlet exclusive.
So that makes the decision easy for me since I always build teams around Tyranitar.
That trailer was shockingly underwhelming to me. The lack of voice acting especially is just so bad. I really want to love pokemon again, but I think I'm just too old.
Whatever you do, do not buy dual packs. Don't let yourself be exploited.
Wish Monolith Soft would be allowed to make a Pokémon mainline game instead of these guys ...I really don't like Game Freak as a developer. Monolith is truly squeezing some absolute magic out of that little X1, with every game they make and help out on looking spectacular for the hardware.
@NinjaWaddleDee I'm certainly too old to listen to dozens of hours of obnoxious children's anime voice acting. That's one saving grace for me here, that they DON'T have any.
I'm just going to get it either from GAME or from MyNintendo if they have a pre-order bonus.
€50 each at Smyths, best deal in Ireland ????
I preordered it but now I'm wondering if I should wait because I have an internship during the release times. Maybe I could wait and get it a little bit cheaper.
$48AUD each from Amazon Australia with Prime free delivery. Cheaper than anything listed here.
Umm… I just preordered from Gamestop. They're not sold out. Please update your article information.
A week to go until I can start my journey in Paldea, I always love exploring new regions in Pokémon. I ended up pre-ordering the double pack of Scarlet (for me) & Violet (for the wife), that way we get the best of both worlds, as far as version exclusives go.
I cancelled my preorder after hearing about the bad performance in preview builds and now that its out in the wild it seems even worse. I'm calling it now; this game is going to score in Sonic Frontiers territory (72-73 on metacritic). I'm currently playing through persona 5 and I have a massive backlog of high quality games, so I'm not making room for yet another likely mediocre Pokemon release. I expected better from the studio behind the highest grossing franchise of all time.
@Astral-Grain pre ordering being an unfair advantage is such a silly complaint. Especially considering you contradicted yourself. Aside from scalper scumbags, the average consumer isn't going to have any unfair advantages over anyone else just by pre-ordering. They've simply secured themselves a copy and have a right to do so.
I went for the travel cup from Currys.
If anyone is interested GAME is doing a midnight release in some of its stores here in the UK. So you can technically pre-order your physical and play it at midnight.
Also a lot of people show up to these events so it's a cool way to interact with people that like the franchise.
I bought mine with the Nintendo online voucher. It was 49,99€ haven’t seen it cheaper elsewhere
So for the Dual pack AmazonFR and AmazonUK, does the FR get the (Nintendo Switch) incl. Digital Bonus (Exclusive to Amazon.co.uk). Because I looked at both case and they looked the same packaging?? So what does one do?
@Pat_trick And risk getting robbed by some scummy chavs?
I got my 'Violet' from MyNintendo UK site on Launch Day but yet to play it as I'm out to Birmingham with the mrs and her nephew. (LOOK OUT for me; I'm in a Charizard hat)
I'll get to play it later and if I like it, I'll get 'Scarlet' to get all the Starters.
I CAN'T WAIT for it to be linkable to HOME.
I don't know where you live in the UK (I'm assuming London, Birmingham or another big city) but where I live that would never happen and it didn't happen when I went there yesterday.
Just seen a video of it on twitter painful to see that frame rate & pop in lol
pokemon hasnt been cool since the 90s
@Would_you_kindly,
We keep saying this, but at this point it's surely not a surprise, GameFreak just can't optimize their games all that well, although I still feel the game looks quite charming, perhaps a performance patch at some point.
@BASEDSAKRI,
Was it ever cool, whatever that means, but still very popular one would imagine.
